Adventure Camp Quick Facts

LOCATION: 1400 Coppermine Terrace | Baltimore, Maryland | 21209 (off of Falls Road)

ACTIVITIES: Campers will have a fantastic variety of outdoor adventure including archery, nature programs, swimming, water games and activities, obstacle and challenge courses, rock climbing, hiking, and exploration, Gaga and games, campfires (weather permitting), wilderness education and more!

FRESH AIR + SUNSHINE: Adventure camp is geared to outside activities each day (when not extreme heat) and as often as possible. We emphasize lots of hand washing and proper hygiene habits, we ask that no sick child attend camp. Adventure camp is for those children that enjoy the outdoors, learning new things and being hands on with wilderness and nature!

CARPOOL: Drop off is between 8:45am – 9:30am each day. Early care begins at 7:30am and late stay is until 5:30pm.  Regular Pick Up begins 3pm – 4pm. Regular Adventure camp hours are 9:30am – 3:30pm. Please PRINT the camper carpool tag and display it in your windshield. (included in the Parent Packet for registered campers) It is OK to drop off multiple children at the same time!

If you arrive after 9:40am and the main driveway has been closed off, please drive around the back of the building to the front (slowly) and please do not move any cones.

SWIMMING: Please make sure your child has a swimsuit and towel for the pool or water activities! Campers are welcome to come IN their suits and bring a change of clothes but Adventure campers swim in the afternoons. Please apply sunscreen each morning and we will remind campers to reapply in the afternoons. Please, no brand-new shoes! Children have lots of fun activities outside so shoes that can get a little dirty or wet are best! We prefer easy to slip on and off Keen sandals, water shoes or sandals.

LUNCH! Please make sure your child brings their lunch in an insulated lunch bag each day with an ice or freeze pack. Lunches are not refrigerated. Please also pack an afternoon snack for your camper. We are not a peanut free facility – so peanut butter and jelly is OK. Please send a LABELED WATER BOTTLE! This is VERY important that children stay hydrated. We will refill often.

HEALTH CHECK: Please no sick children or campers getting over colds. We are taking all measures to keep all children and staff healthy and well at camp. If your child has medications that need to be taken during the camp day, please drop off properly labeled medications along with completing all necessary health paperwork on your first day. Doctors’ signatures are required for medication authorization.

TEAMWORK: If for any reason children are having difficulty behaving, following directions, or staying safe, parents will be called to pick up their child. (Please see our Code of Conduct) We have lots of fun activities planned and want to make sure every child has the best experience while staying safe in a positive and welcoming environment.

SAFETY & BEHAVIOR: Coppermine is committed to making our camp environment safe and fun for everyone. All campers and their parents are asked to read and sign our Code of Conduct Agreement to demonstrate their understanding of, and compliance with, Coppermine’s expectations from every child. We urge you to review the information closely with your child. In keeping with the philosophy of maintaining a positive experience for our campers and to ensure the safety of each child, we have a no tolerance policy for extreme actions, words, or behaviors.
