Winter Break – December 21 – January 2
Make this winter break one that’s filled with fun, playful learning, and magical memories for everyone! Visit Port Discovery to enjoy winter-themed performances, art projects, stories, and activities, plus hands-on exploration that will keep the “I’m bored” moments at bay. Noontime New Year – December 31
Help Port Discovery ring in 2023 with the annual Noontime New Year Event. This year, a group of time travelers will host activities, a performance, and the museum’s first ever ball drop! The museum will be open from 10 AM- 5 PM on Saturday, December 31. Ticket price is the same as general admission, which is $21.95 for individuals 1 and up.
Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend Extended Hours – January 14 – 16
Port Discovery is open extended hours for MLK Weekend. Visit the museum on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for hands-on activities and fun learning for all. In addition to daily activities and programs, special activities will include exploring the language, poetry, and the words behind Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech and art projects related to Dr. Martin Luther King.
Sensory Friendly Mornings – January 22 and February 19
Port Discovery’s Sensory Friendly Mornings provide Museum access to families who would benefit from a sensory friendly experience and quieter setting at Port Discovery two hours before opening to the general public.
These mornings are designed to provide you with an opportunity to enjoy the Port Discovery experience in a sensory-modified setting, including limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments.
Sensory Friendly Mornings will include open-play opportunities throughout the Museum. No proof of qualification will be required. Pre-registration is required. For the winter season, Sensory Friendly Mornings are happening on January 22 and February 19 from 9 AM – 11 AM. Register here: https://tickets.portdiscovery.org/Default.aspx.
President’s Day Weekend Extended Hours – February 18 – 20
Port Discovery will be open extended hours for President’s Day Weekend! Visit the museum on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for hands-on activities and fun learning for all. On Monday, participate in special games, including a presidential memory game and a presidential game show.
