Wallace & Gromit: Get Cracking! Exhibit Opening Weekend (May 20-21)
Tally-ho! Get ready for a right bit o’ fun because Wallace & Gromit™ Get Cracking! is now open for play from May 20-September 3, 2023.
Step into the north England home of cheese-loving inventor Wallace and his loyal and intelligent dog, Gromit. Blast off in Wallace’s rocket to the moon, launch the porridge canon, fix the broken Autochef, design your own cracking contraption, hop into Prestons’ truck for a drive and more!
This brand-new exhibit builds on problem-solving skills encouraging children to playfully solve STEM-based problems in fun and engaging ways.
This exhibit was developed by Minnesota’s Children’s Museum in partnership with Aardman Animations LTD.
The Playhouse Exhibit Opens (Summer 2023)
The Playhouse at Port Discovery – our fully immersive and interactive new theater exhibit- will be opening this summer! The new design transforms this area into a child-sized, front- and back-of house theatrical play space that will serve as both a hands-on exploratory exhibit and a functional theater for programming.
The renovation includes a scenic stage, costume and props area, puppet theater, an interactive tech booth and more! – all of which are sized for young children and invite dramatic, participatory play. Dramatic play engages virtually every part of a child’s developing brain, helping hone a range of critical developmental skills including creativity, coordination, oral language development, early math development, concentration and social-emotional skills.
