EXTENDED CARE: Early care begins at 7:30am. Late stay pick up is by 5:30pm. Regular Pony camp hours are from 9am – 4:30pm each day.

GEAR: Each child is asked to bring a lunch each day which will be kept in a cooler bag, but we do encourage individual cold packs in lunches. Long pants are required (jeans or leggings are ok / no shorts) for riding and shoes with a heel of some type, no rain boots and no tennis or running shoes. Please no boots with inside zippers as the zippers may poke the horse’s belly.

If you have purchased new boots, please have your child break them in and wear them prior to the first day of camp! (please make sure campers have proper socks with boots) Please no tank tops. Unless you have your own riding helmet, we will provide them, and the same helmet will be used each day by the same rider. Bike helmets do not work for riding. Please make sure your child applies sunscreen in the morning and feel free to send it with them.

Please send a change of clothes each day (shorts and t-shirts, flip flops or comfy shoes) and we encourage bathing suits and towel for water activities when time allows.

If your child takes medication or has any medical supplies that need to be with them, please be sure to send these labeled with your child’s name. If your child needs to be picked up early for any reason, you will need to pick them up from the farm directly. We are unable to shuttle children back and forth during the day. Please avoid any appointments if possible, during the week. If you are picking up directly from the farm please be at the farm no later than 3pm each day.

COPPERMINE PONY CAMP FACEBOOK PAGE: please feel free to JOIN our private Coppermine Pony Camp Facebook page to see daily updates and photos from the camp and all the activities that the campers are enjoying!

HEALTH: We ask that no sick child or any child with symptoms attend the camp as we are doing everything we can to keep children and staff healthy and well.

We will return each day back to Coppermine by 4:30pm for the children to then get picked up. If you arrive a few minutes prior to the van, please pull into an open parking spot and we will bring your child to you once they arrive. Please allow a 15–20-minute window should the van be a little late coming back from the farm! Participants love this camp so wrapping up at the end of the day takes a little time!

THE GREAT OUTDOORS: Please let your child know that there are several super friendly dogs, chickens and cats at the farm, there are also flies and bugs, so if your child is a little scared, please reassure them that everything is ok, animals are part of farm life but that screaming, and running are not safe around the horses.

TEAMWORK: If for any reason children are having difficulty behaving, listening, or following directions, parents will be called to pick up their child. We have lots of fun activities planned and want to make sure every child has the best experience each day while staying safe. We do not have the ability to give children numerous warnings, safety is our priority, therefore having the child picked up is what will be asked.

Pony lessons and time on the farm is rain or shine since there are indoor facilities.

If there have been changes to your child’s summer camp plans, please email camp@gocoppermine.com.

REMINDER: All credit cards on file will be charged on May 1st and all camp balances are due at that time. Please email camp@gocoppermine.com with any changes or questions (including adjusting camp weeks, adding camp weeks, adding AM or PM care) as we do not take changes over the phone.

SAFETY & BEHAVIOR: Coppermine is committed to making our camp environment safe and fun for everyone. All campers and their parents are asked to read and sign our Code of Conduct Agreement to demonstrate their understanding of, and compliance with, Coppermine’s expectations from every child. We urge you to review the information closely with your child. In keeping with the philosophy of maintaining a positive experience for our campers and to ensure the safety of each child, we have a no tolerance policy for extreme actions, words, or behaviors.

CAMP POLICIES: Coppermine will offer the following policies for the upcoming summer:

If for any reason Coppermine is required to close due to state and local guidelines for COVID, families will receive a full refund for any unused weeks. If a camper is no longer able to attend camp for any reason:

Prior to May 1st families are provided with a full refund.

May 1st – September 1st families are provided with an in-house Coppermine credit for the tuition paid for the unused weeks (expires 1 year) less the $100 non-refundable deposit and a 10% processing fee.

REFUNDS & CREDITS: No refunds or credits will be issued for participants who do not contact Coppermine to cancel by the above dates or who do not attend their registered weeks. Coppermine requires seven days’ notice throughout the summer for cancellations for the above policies to apply prior to their registered week. If a camper is dismissed for disciplinary reasons the above dates and policies apply.

Non-payment of balances will result in loss of reservation and non-refundable deposit.

All changes and requests are required to be in writing for us to provide the most accurate service possible. Please submit all changes to camp@gocoppermine.com.

We are excited to celebrate summer with you and your family! We love kids and the opportunity to make an impact on their lives through encouragement and positive reinforcement while filling their summer days with FRIENDS & FUN!
