Lil Miners Camp Quick Facts

LOCATION: 1400 Coppermine Terrace | Baltimore MD 21209 (off of Falls Road)

ACTIVITIES: Campers will have a fantastic variety of age-appropriate arts & crafts, playground time, swimming or water games and activities, music, movement, obstacle courses, trampoline fun, sports, sensory stations, story time, nature and more!

CARPOOL: Drop off is between 8:45am – 9:30am each day. Early care begins at 7:30am and late stay is until 5:30pm.  Regular Pick Up begins at 3pm. Regular Lil’ Miner’s camp hours are 9:30am – 3pm. Please PRINT the camper carpool tag and display it in your windshield. (Included in the Parent Packet for registered campers) It is OK to drop off multiple children at the same time!

We do ask that our younger campers get picked up as close to 3pm-3:15pm as best as possible.

SPLISH SPLASH: Lil’ Miner’s campers are asked to come IN their suits and bring a change of clothes. Please also pack an extra outfit for possible accidents. Please make sure your child has a swimsuit and towel for pool or water activities each day! Please apply sunscreen each morning and we will reapply in the afternoons. Please, no brand-new shoes! Children have lots of fun activities outside so shoes that can get a little dirty or wet are best! We prefer easy to slip on and off Keen sandals, water shoes or sandals.

POOL TIME: Our pool is staffed with both lifeguards and pool staff in addition to our Lil’ Miner’s coordinators and counselors. Lots of eyes on the little ones at the pool. Children are also able to stand on the steps which are ankle deep and the pool starts at 2 feet which allows us to have a roped off area for our youngest campers. We will assist in the pool to encourage confident swimmers and promote a love for the water!  If your child prefers to wear swim floaties or vests, please make sure these are labeled and we will have them wear these during pool time.

LUNCH: Please make sure your child brings their lunch in an insulated lunch bag each day with an ice or freeze pack. Lunches are not refrigerated. Please also pack a snack for your camper. We are not a peanut free facility – so peanut butter and jelly is OK. Please send a labeled water bottle.

NAPS: If your camper naps in the afternoon please send in any blankets or pillows that they would like to use, and we have cots for children during nap time. Items brought from home can stay with us for the week! We will then send them home each Friday.

TEAMWORK: If for any reason children are frequently having difficulty behaving, following directions, or staying safe, parents will be called to pick up their child. We have lots of fun activities planned and want to make sure every child has the best experience while staying safe in a positive and welcoming environment. (Please see our Code of Conduct for registered campers)

Please talk to your child about keeping their hands to themselves as best as possible and doing their best to use their listening ears throughout the week!

HEALTH CHECK: Please no sick children or campers getting over colds. We are taking all measures to keep all children and staff healthy and well at camp. If your child takes medication during the day, please make sure you have proper documentation from your physician and that all medication is in its original packaging.

BATHROOM BREAKS: We ask that all campers attending the camp be fully potty-trained. This is an absolute must. We absolutely will help and assist with bathroom visits, but we do not have the extra staff for frequent accident changes unfortunately.  Your child must be able to communicate or use the bathrooms properly with our assistance, and we will go often with lots of reminders. We appreciate your understanding!

REMINDER: All credit cards on file will be charged on May 1st and all camp balances are due at that time. Please email camp@gocoppermine.com with any changes or questions (including adjusting camp weeks, adding camp weeks, adding AM or PM care) as we do not take changes over the phone.

SAFETY & BEHAVIOR: Coppermine is committed to making our camp environment safe and fun for everyone. All campers and their parents are asked to read and sign our Code of Conduct Agreement to demonstrate their understanding of, and compliance with, Coppermine’s expectations from every child. We urge you to review the information closely with your child. In keeping with the philosophy of maintaining a positive experience for our campers and to ensure the safety of each child, we have a no tolerance policy for extreme actions, words, or behaviors.

NEW SPACE: Some separation anxiety is normal for our newest and youngest campers, and children may need some time to get familiar with the new space, their counselors’ role in their day, and that you will be returning for them at a particular point in the day. Our staff is prepared and understands that this is normal in a young child’s development. Your child’s comfort in the new spaces will get stronger and easier each day they are with us!

CAMP POLICIES: Coppermine will offer the following policies for the upcoming summer:

If for any reason Coppermine is required to close due to state and local guidelines for COVID, families will receive a full refund for any unused weeks. If a camper is no longer able to attend camp for any reason:

Prior to May 1st families are provided with a full refund.

May 1st – September 1st families are provided with an in-house Coppermine credit for the tuition paid for the unused weeks (expires 1 year) less the $100 non-refundable deposit and a 10% processing fee.

REFUNDS & CREDITS: No refunds or credits will be issued for participants who do not contact Coppermine to cancel by the above dates or who do not attend their registered weeks. Coppermine requires seven days’ notice throughout the summer for cancellations for the above policies to apply prior to their registered week. If a camper is dismissed for disciplinary reasons the above dates and policies apply.

Non-payment of balances will result in loss of reservation and non-refundable deposit.

All changes and requests are required to be in writing for us to provide the most accurate service possible. Please submit all changes to camp@gocoppermine.com.

We are excited to celebrate summer with you and your family! We love kids and the opportunity to make an impact in their lives through encouragement and positive reinforcement while filling their summer days with FRIENDS & FUN!
