Player Development Soccer Camps Overview

Coppermine is thrilled to offer a unique range of Player Development Soccer Camps this summer to help build players skills and develop their love of the game!  Rec and club players will focus on speed and agility training, ball mastery training and small sided games with a focus on shooting and finishing technique.

About the Camp Director

Mike Griffith is a US Soccer Nationally licensed coach with over twenty years of coaching experience at the Club, High School, College, and Professional levels. Currently, Mike serves as the Director of Operations for Coppermine Soccer Club, Head Coach of the 2011 CSC Premier boys team ranked #1 in the Country and is entering his seventh season on the Varsity Soccer staff at MIAA power Archbishop Curley High School.

Prior to beginning his twenty-year Coaching career Mike had an outstanding prep career as a goalkeeper. In 1995 he was named the Baltimore County Coaches “Player of the Year”, 1st team All-Metro by the Baltimore Sun, and selected to the MACS All State team. In College Mike patrolled the nets for NCAA Division One, UMBC where he captained the 1998 team and was a member of the record breaking 1999 team which made the NCAA tournament and finished the year Nationally ranked in the top 20.

Program Summary
An intense four-session training program designed to increase fitness levels, maximize touches on the ball, master 1v1 skills, and improve players shooting / finishing skills. This hybrid program combines soccer specific fitness with ball mastery & finishing exercise to maximize the players hour of training. The Elite Player Training program is for players already playing travel or club soccer who are looking to push their summer training to the next level.

COPPERMINE BALL MASTERY CAMP (6-18 Years)

6/27 to 6/30

7:30pm: Ball Mastery (14 – 18 years)

Program Summary
Ball Mastery camp is a four-session program designed to maximize touches on the ball, master 1v1 skills, improve speed of play, and ultimately increase a players confidence handling the ball in all situations. Players should have some experience playing soccer and want to continue developing their first touch and 1v1 skills.

Night One: Fast Footwork, Mastering the Foundation
Night Two: 1v1 Movements, Winning the Space
Night Three: Change of Direction, Creative Influence
Night Four: Putting it all Together, Applying in Game Situations

STRIKERS AND GOAKEEPERS CAMP (7-14 Years)

7/11 – 7/15

Program Summary
Strikers and Keepers camp is designed for goalkeepers and strikers (field players) to combine in one camp. Goalkeepers will spend time on goalkeeper technique while strikers spend time on finishing techniques. Both groups combine for scrimmages and drills throughout the camp to give a great workout to all the players. Players attending this camp should have travel or club soccer experience.

COPPERMINE FUTURES CAMP (6-10 Years)

Program Summary
This four-day outdoor soccer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 12 will focus on different techniques and themes to help build players skills and develop their love of the game. The CSC Futures camp is for recreational level players.

Day Two: Passing Techniques and Games
Day Three: World Cup Tournament
Day Four: Camp Olympics / Short Sided Championships

Cost: $175 (Coppermine Soccer Club Players: $150.00)
Ages: Boys & Girls 6-14 years

Program Summary
One week (18 hour) outdoor soccer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 14. Each day of camp will focus on different techniques and themes to help players prepare for the upcoming season.

Day Two: Combination Play
Day Three: Possession Games
Day Four: Defending 101
Day Five: Camp Olympics / Small Sided Championship

Ages: Boys & Gurls 13-18 years (Boys & Girls will be in separate groups)

Program Summary
Five Day (10 hour) camp designed to help players prepare for the demands of their High School soccer
preseason! Camp staff will consist of current High School and College coaches. Players who sign up for this camp should be at the travel or club level.
