Orthopedic Providers

Dr. Mark Slabaugh
Mark A. Slabaugh, M.D., is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon with Orthopedics and Joint Replacement at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Slabaugh is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic repair of sports-related injuries and complex knee and shoulder reconstructions. He serves patients and families of central Maryland, with office locations at Mercy Personal Physicians community-based facilities in Lutherville, Overlea and Reisterstown, as well as Mercy Medical Center in Downtown Baltimore.

Dr. Jasmine Toor
Jasmine Toor, M.D., is Board Certified in Internal Medicine in addition to completing sports medicine training. She is a non-operative sports medicine doctor who manages an array of injuries including both upper and lower extremity. She sees patients age 13+ and focuses on the diagnosis of their injuries, treatment and prevention of further injuries. Dr. Toor specializes in concussion management and sees athlete specific medical conditions such as iron deficiency syndrome, hypertension and a wide variety of other medical conditions.

Dr. John-Paul Rue
John-Paul Rue, M.D., is a fellowship-trained Board Certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Orthopedics and Joint Replacement at Mercy. Dr. John-Paul Rue’s primary focus is treating injuries of the knee, shoulder and elbow, from ACL tears, meniscus and cartilage injuries to shoulder instability and rotator cuff injuries. He also sees patients with injuries such as overuse tendonitis, ankle sprains and fractures. Dr. Rue sees patients at Mercy Personal Physicians at Glen Burnie, McAuley Plaza at Mercy and SurgCenter Towson.  

Dr. Nicholas Anastasio
Nicholas Anastasio, M.D., is a Board Certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Orthopedics and Joint Replacement at Mercy in Baltimore, Maryland, and Mercy Personal Physicians at Glen Burnie. Dr. Anastasio treats muscle, bone, joint and nerve conditions to maximize function and improve quality of life through non-surgical techniques, such as percutaneous tenotomy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), nerve conduction studies and ultrasound-guided injections. When necessary, Dr. Anastasio works in close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists to optimize care. 

Physical Therapists

Dr. Ariana Maxwell
Ariana Maxwell, PT, DPT, obtained her undergraduate degree from Salisbury University. There, she was also a part of the D3 Women’s Lacrosse team, where she won an NCAA Championship. Upon graduation, Ariana went on to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Ariana has experience treating a variety of populations including athletes, geriatrics and post-operative patients. She has also worked with a variety of conditions, from spinal cord injuries to traumatic brain injuries, to stroke. Book your appointment with her at the FX PT Mt. Washington location, now!

Dr. Chris Mooney
Chris Mooney received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in 2012. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2016. Chris has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics since graduation. He has also done additional coursework in spinal manipulation and diagnostic ultrasound. Dr. Mooney, a former junior Olympic and division I collegiate gymnast, specializes in working with gymnasts as well as all other junior and collegiate athletes.
